The Vicksburg, Mississippi, community is mourning the passing of Mark Anthony Roland, a longtime resident who died on Sunday, August 2, 2026. His death has brought sadness to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mark was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Throughout his life, he created meaningful relationships and cherished the time he spent with the people closest to him. Those who knew Mark will remember him for the memories he shared, the connections he built, and the impact he had on the lives of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Clinton Roland, and both sets of grandparents.

Mark leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory. He is survived by his three daughters, Alli Roland James, Mary Halterman, and Hollye Watkins; his grandchildren, Aden, John Colby, Gabby, Mallory, and Jaxon; his parents, Johnny and Louise Roland; and his siblings, John “Ricky” Roland and Cindy Heilman.

His family and friends will forever treasure the moments they shared with Mark and the love, support, and memories that defined his life. His legacy will continue through the generations of family members who carry his name and remember the special role he played in their lives.

Honorary pallbearers include Colby Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Jason Hellman, Ashley Halterman, and the table games staff at Bally’s Casino, reflecting the friendships and connections Mark formed throughout his life.

A funeral service to celebrate Mark Anthony Roland’s life will be held at Oakland Baptist Church on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m.

As loved ones gather to honor Mark’s memory, they will reflect on a life filled with family, relationships, and cherished moments. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him.
